It was a tad bit unnerving to see my name plastered all over the place when I googled my name. It's just coming upon 6:30am--I can't sleep--and of course the first thing I turn to is my trusty ol' computer. All I had was my diary when I was an angst ridden teenager, no keyboard, no cellphone, none of the technological gadgetry that we (and I certainly include myself!) have all become so dependent on.
But, I digress, I was talking about google-shock. Really now--if you write a blog, if you tweet, chat, link-in, etc (can't think of any more since I'm dragging from lack of sleep), trust me--you are all over the internet.
I don't really care, in fact, I need to get used to seeing myself objectively if, in fact, I want to write blogs, comments, blurbs, articles, or even interviews and be noticed. It just feels weird to see it for the first time...like a virgin...hey!....for the very first time...like a virrrrrrgin...ok my voice is bad, I'll stop.
I'm going back to bed and this will all have been a very bad dream with Madonna in it.

The Right to Write
That is the title of the book I'm reading by Julia Cameron. I've become all scholarly again and over the past few weeks have managed to enroll in a writing class, resume my doctorate work in clinical hypnosis, open a Twitter account, and continue to work on ways to create income! Income, come in! Right over here, please. I'm very cordial with Mr. Money because I'd like him to visit often. I don't have a lot to say today and I have a writing assignment to finish, but I realize I haven't been very attentive to my blog. I will try to come back more often; perhaps I can be a positive role model for Mr. Money. I hope he reads this blog, lol. :)

Ch-Ch-Ch-Change!!!
1/21/09
Change is good (my new and continuing mantra). I am looking forward to many changes in my life and in the world around me. Without change life would be boring and repetitive with very little to look forward to. Not that it's easy, mind you...
My last posting took me almost a month to publish. It was just sitting there in my list of posts, waiting patiently for me to climb out of my pool of denial. I go swimming there once in awhile, lol.
It has taken me awhile to accept and embrace the idea of moving forward. Leaving my airline job was the hardest thing I've done in a long time, maybe one of the most important actions I've taken in my whole life.
To be kind to myself, I took some time off to float awhile--and--a month sabbatical has done wonders for my psyche. The thought of living on a fixed income for the meantime is not so scary anymore. And, I am reconnecting to my creativity! I thought I had lost it somewhere in the terminal at LAX.
Because I am involved in a Law of Attraction mastermind group, I have been working steadily on creating abundance, peace and gleefulness in my life. It's so much fun! Life is really very enjoyable once you get the hang of it.
This is all I feel like posting for now. I'm hungry and I want to play :) I will return tomorrow with real content for this blog--even though I am not doing this for anyone else than myself. I do have a lot to say, though.

Sunset to My Old Life

1/21/09 (actual post date)
Is it really true? I'm only about 2 days away from leaving my career as an airline employee. It's been a part of my life for such a long time that I am experiencing some grief in moving on.
It is time. 30 years of any one thing is enough. Through thick and thin, rain and shine, calm and tornado-like frenzy. I've been there.
What I am thankful for is that I get to leave while I'm still young. I am retiring early--YAY!--and embarking on a new career.
I am leaving a wealth of resources, people who really have the knowledge to do other things, but have decided to work in the airline industry for the flight benefits. Benefits that used to make the hardships a little less pounding to my spirit.

Leroy
This is just my gratuitous attempt to show off my cat and my amazing photography skill at the same time...while practicing sarcasm. He will be fifteen in May and is spoiled rotten, but, you knew that.

Ever wonder what cats say to each other? Here's a short video that exposes the truth (less than a minute of your time).

Change is Good
Well, at least that is what I keep telling myself. In less than 2 months I will be a free agent: no job, no timeclock, no work policies, no....money? Yep. I am looking for work that I can do while I put together my online travel business. More on that in a later post.
My goal is to have more than one stream of income and to be entirely free of a traditional work schedule. From one extreme to the other. I believe it is not only possible, but, that I will be living my dream well before the end of 2009.
Now, to reinvent my life, to uproot and completely reorganize my belief system. Wheee! Not really so difficult...
I belong to 2 MasterMind groups that have me thinking outside of the box---really looking at my life and my purpose from the perception that WE CO-CREATE everything! What we think--IS. Total responsibility for everything we are, do or have.
Interestingly enough, once I started to place my focus on what is important to me and what I desired to be, do or have in my life, things began to shift. A shift in consciousness? Yes.
I'm really loving it. And, I'm really enjoying the celebration with those who believe the same. Not so much with those who don't. Negativity is difficult to stomach, and pessimism, fearfulness. I have enough of my own that I'm unloading!
I just saw a quotation that I like: 'Some things have to be believed to be seen'. Ralph Hodgson
I believe I will achieve ;)

Angst Spelled Backwards Would Be Gnats

What a tough time it is! I forgot what it was like to be a teenager. Today, I feel all gangly, irritable, moody, like screaming on the top of the roof...The irritability is the worst. I tend to say things before thinking.
I do have a last day of work now, December 19, 2008. Almost 30 years doing the same thing and now I want to make big changes...the nerve of me.
Work is the same, small, dark hole I worked myself into way back when...I still remember what my mother told me when I started working there. "It's a dead end job, Terry. You went to college and now this? Leave while you still can, etc."
She was right, at least in part. But, I had the opportunity to travel the world and see a lot of places I never could have without it. Unless I made a fortune and enough money to do it all without the uniform, lol.
So I am doing things backwards. The fortune will come when the student is ready. I'm ready to learn some more, to place my ego into awkward spaces, to feel the pain of growth.
It's ok. I've done it before, only now I'm older and have more than 20/20 hindsight. I have improved periphery from a much wider lens.
Then there's the intuition that seems to get the better of me. The weirdness of 'knowing' from a Source other than myself.
Only now am I able to deal with this mysterious, wonderful and sometimes unnerving resource. Well, deal with it is probably not the right word. Accept it...become more open to it...be patient with myself while I test drive it here and then there...
I need to be free of this job that was my security for half my life. And, where to from here is uncharted. I'm ok with no map. I'm going in the direction and speed that feels right.
Tomorrow is another day, like Scarlet said. And, maybe tomorrow's the day I'll see light at the end of the tunnel.
